Lisa Ann Opp, 47, of Wood River, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her home in Wood River.



Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Wood River. Father Jorge Canela and Rev. James Janovec will be officiating. A private Inurnment will be Friday, March 11 at 2:00 pm at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Wood River.



Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Wood River. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary' s Building Fund, Masses, or your personal choice. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.



Lisa was born on March 10, 1968 to William and Patricia (Shotkoski) Opp in Grand Island, Nebraska. She grew up in Wood River and graduated from Wood River High School in 1986. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Wood River. Lisa enjoyed reading and watching television, especially the weather channel, old Westerns, game shows and WWE wrestling. Lisa was an avid weather watcher.



Employment for Lisa was a challenge in her lifetime. She held several different job titles from waitressing, CNA, Telemarketing, and store clerk. Her 15+ years at Wendys was what she enjoyed the most because of the friends she made and her manager that understood her disability. She worked at Wendys until she was disabled due to her medical limitations.



Survivors include her mother, Pat Opp of Wood River, sister Lana Opp of Lincoln, her Aunt Virginia Pokorski, of Grand Island, Uncle John Shotkoski of Lincoln, Uncle Ron and Aunt Jan Palu (Shotkoski) of Grand Island, Uncle Tom and Aunt Jacque Shotkoski of Lincoln, Aunt Rosie Dooley (Shotkoski) of Wood River, Uncle Dan and Aunt Kathy Bydalek (Shotkoski) of Kearney, Uncle Randy and Aunt Joyce Rowley (Shotkoski) of Grand Island, Uncle Stan Kirkendall of Rolla, Missouri, great-aunt Virginia Heinrich of Grand Island and numerous cousins. Close friends DeAnn Eaby (Foxhoven) of Mount Joy, PA and Tammy Barrego-Baca of Grand Island.



She was preceded in death by her father, Bill her grandparents Bill and Lorena Opp, Edward and Anna Shotkoski, Aunt Sheryl Opp, Aunt Marilyn Kirkendall, Uncle Pat Pokorski, and Uncle Tom Dooley.
