Lionel Contreras

Lionel Contreras, 46, of Grand Island died Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home.



Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island with Fr. Jorge Canela officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Thursday, July 22nd at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island concluding with a Rosary at 7 PM.



Lionel was born on October 6, 1974 in Los Angeles, CA to Amador and Maria (Rodriguez) Contreras. He lived in California “Pacoima” and Grand Island, NE where he was employed by the Grand Island Public Schools.



He loved music, Sunday service, riding his bike, time spent with his family and BBQ’s.



Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Amador, Javier, Gabriel and David Contreras; and sisters, Laura, Chayo, Maricela and Teresa Contreras.



He was preceded in death by his his mother, Maria Rodriguez and Peiddy Contreras.
