At Our Alberding Wilson Location. Harvard resident, Larry Red Owens, 55, died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Monday, March 3, 2008 at 5 PM at the Harvard High School, Harvard, NE with the Rev. Stan Crawford officiating, with military rites at the school. Burial at a later date in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 5 PM to 9 PM with the family present from 7 PM to 9 PM, Monday, March 3, 2008 from 12 noon to 3 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Larry was born September 7, 1952 to Jessie and Florence (Anderson) Owens in Hastings, NE. He graduated from Harvard High School in 1970. He attended Fairbury Junior College where he played football and ran track. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years from July 17, 1972 to July 17, 1974, and was an M.P. He married Connie Waters December 9, 1972. He worked as a welder for many years until going to work for the City of Harvard for the past 6 years. He is survived by his wife Connie of Harvard, 1 daughter, Kelly Owens of Boston, Mass, 1 son, Clint of Harvard, NE, 7 grandchildren, 1 sister, Sherry Sanford and husband Rick, 2 brothers, Jerry Owens and wife Mary, and Terry Owens and wife Kelley all of Harvard, NE and mother-in-law, Lucille Waters of Hastings, NE, and many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law and 1 son Curtis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the families choice.
