Laverna Harris

LaVerna E. Harris, 89, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Edgewood Vista in Grand Island, Nebraska. Services will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family. LaVerna was born on April 25, 1923 to Harry and Etta (Wilson) Ogden in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Howard Harris on June 2, 1949 in Hastings, Nebraska. Survivors include her nieces and nephews. LaVerna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; brothers, Orval and Floyd; 2 infant brothers; sisters, Pearle, Beulah, Ina, and Trella; and 1 infant sister.
