Koryoom Rial

Koryoom Rial, 21, of Hastings, NE passed away at home on August 23, 2019. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 212 W. 22nd St Grand Island, NE. Bishop Duane Fuller will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand Island City Cemetery. After the burial, a special memorial service in the Nuer language will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 2103 W Anna St, Grand Island NE. Koryoom was born in Ethiopia on January 2, 1998 to Gathaak Koryoom Koang and Elizabeth Nyanciew Pal. Koryoom was the 2nd of 6 children. The family moved to the United States when he was 8 months old. He grew up in Grand Island attending Grand Island Public Schools. He participated in cross country track and played the tuba in marching band. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 2015. Koryoom enjoyed playing and wrestling with his siblings when they were young and taking his brother to movies. He liked to spend time with friends and play video games. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.



Koryoom was very loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his father of Omaha, NE; mother of Grand Island, brother: Pernaath; sisters: Nyanial, Nyajima, Nyayien, and Nyariek; and numerous extended family members.



He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pal Chang, and his uncle, Duoth Pal.
