Hastings resident, Kenneth Ken Theisen, 74, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital; Hastings, NE. Rosary will be Monday, September 29, 2008 at 7:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel; Hastings, NE. Services will be Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hastings, NE with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be at the Assumption Cemetery, Assumption, NE with military rites at graveside. Visitation will be Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 12 noon to 6 pm and Monday, September 29, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Kenneth was born October 24, 1933 to Henry and Ollie (Weber) Theisen in Hastings, NE. He attended Assumption Catholic School in Assumption, NE. He served in the US Army from April 6, 1954 to March 16, 1956. He married Katherine Loskill on March 2, 1957 at the Assumption Catholic Church, Assumption, NE. He worked at Hunt Electric and later ABC Electric both in Hastings, NE he then became the owner and operator of Kens Electric in Hastings until his illness. He was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church. A member of the VFW Club and was a past commander and trustee for the VFW and was a member of the Adams County Burial Detail. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #592, American Legion, the 4 Rivers Sportsman Club, the N.R.A. and the Doniphan Sportsman Club. Ken loved to fish and camp. He is survived by his wife Katherine of Hastings, NE, 1 daughter Karen Wittler of Muscatine, Iowa, 1 son, Ed of Aurora, CO, 2 brothers Roy Theisen and wife Evelyn and LaVern Theisen and wife Dorothy all of Hastings, NE, 1 sister, Lois Mangers and husband Robert of Salem, Oregon. 2 grandchildren, Kelly Wittler of Ames, Iowa and Drew Wittler of Muscatine, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter Deb and 1 son-in-law Kent Wittler. Memorials may be given to the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Hospice or family choice.
