Julie K. Andersen

Hastings resident, Julene Julie K. (Judy) Andersen, 49, died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at her home after a long bout with cancer. Services will be Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 10:30 AM at All Saints Chapel, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings - Village with the Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and up til service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Julie was born October 11, 1959 to George Donald and Carol Ann (Bice) Judy in Superior, NE. She was a long time member of the Girl Scouts and other extra curricular activities in high school where she graduated from Nelson High School in 1977. She married Steven Darling, June 7, 1980 in Hastings, NE and they had a son Shane M. Darling in February 1982. She married the late Larry Puyear in May of 1988. She graduated from Mary Lanning School of Radiological Technology in June of 1988. She worked at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital for many years before graduating from Central Community College Registered Nurse Program in 2002. She worked as an RN at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital before becoming a Travel Nurse. She married Nels David Andersen on May 1, 2004 after a 6 year engagement. They resided in Hastings. She was member of the Eagles Aerie #592, Southern Hills Golf Course, NWGA and the ASRT. She is survived by her husband Dave, of Hastings, NE, son Shane Darling and wife Sarah of Costa Mesa, CA, step-son, Matthew Andersen and wife Stephanie and their daughters, Zoiee and Payslee, step-daughter Carissa Andersen and daughters, Taylor and Ashton, step-daughter, Ashley Andersen and daughter, Madalyn, and step-daughter Jenna Andersen, all of Hastings, NE. Parents George and Carol Judy of Nelson and Nels and Joan Andersen of Hastings, NE. Brother Daniel Judy and wife Brenda of Deshler, NE, sister, Kathleen Holloway and husband Wayne of Napoleonville, LA and sister Teresa Judy of Omaha, NE, sister-in-law, Cindy Garcia and husband Greg of Hastings, NE and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to the family.
