Hastings resident, Jessie Lee Daugherty, 89, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare.



Services will be Friday, April 19th, 2019 at 11 am at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family.



Memorials may be given to the Hope Lodge, 8030 Farnam Dr, Omaha, NE 68114 or to Apfel Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.



Jessie was born October 3, 1929 to London and Alberta (Toliver) Jones in Lake Village, Arkansas. Jessie was the first of sixteen children; Willy Thomas, Mildred Colema, Robert Parish, Willy Connor Jr, Charle Jones, Patricia Jones, Verma Jones, Thelma Teller, and Somora Willison, Gloria Connor; 5 step siblings; Frank Jones, Willy Jones, Joe Jones, Gladis Jones, and Mamamie Jones. She married Ronald Daugherty in 1976 in Hastings, NE. She worked as an assembler at the Ammunition Depot in Hastings during the Vietnam War and was a homemaker.



She is survived by three sons; LeRoy Singleton of Venoil, MS, Major Thomas of Greenville, MS, and Tony Daugherty of Hastings, NE; one daughter, Bernice Ford of Greenville, MS, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 4 sisters; Verma Jones, Somora Williams and Gloria Connor all of Greenville, MS, and Thelma Teller of Los Angeles, CA.



She was preceded in death by one infant son Joseph Daugherty, 2 sisters, 4 brothers and five step brothers and sisters.
