Hastings resident, Jerry Lee Morgan, 60, of 2713 West 6th Street, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his home. Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 10am at the First Christian Church, Hastings, NE, with the Rev. Dr. Judith Allen officiating. His body was cremated, and burial will be at a later date. Arrangements have been made through Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Jerry was born on August 22, 1947, in Aurora, NE, to James H. and Mae Doris (Hohnstein) Morgan in Aurora, NE. He graduated from Hastings High in 1965 and then served in the US Air Force from July 14, 1966 to July 13, 1970. He also attended Central Community College in Hastings, NE. On December 28, 1968, he married Cathy Plebuch. He has lived in Hastings most of his life, where he worked for the United States Postal Service. Jerry was an avid sportsmen, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever, and he is remembered by many good friends. He is survived by his wife Cathy of Hastings; two daughters and a son-in-law Carrie and Karl McDade of Berkeley, CA, and Kelly Morgan of Lincoln, NE; his mother, Mae of Hastings; one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Peg Morgan of Greeley, CO; and one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Ron Uden of Prosser, NE. He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Morgan.
