Jerry H. Hegwood

Hastings resident, Jerry H. Hegwood, 70, died, Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church in Hastings, NE with the Rev. Larry Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2009 from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Jerry was born September 26, 1938 to Johnnie N. and Alice M. (Israel) Hegwood in Tracy, Iowa. He attended Hastings and Juniata public schools. He had lived in the Hastings area most of his life. He was currently a custodian at the Central Community College; he had also worked as a custodian at the First Baptist Church for 20 years and had worked at Western Land Roller for 17 years. He also worked at Durham's Bakery. He was a member and a trustee at the First Baptist Church in Hastings, NE, and a member of the Eagles Aerie 592, in Hastings, NE. He is survived by his mother, Alice, twin brother John and wife Marmette, and sister Barbara Bohlen and husband Ken all of Hastings, NE. 5 nieces and 3 nephews. 20 Great nieces and nephews, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and 1 nephew, David Bohlen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
