Jerald R. Spicknall

Former Roseland resident, Jerald R. Spicknall, of 72, of 13755 South Bladen Ave, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 2 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Marcus Mackay officiating. Burial will be in the Roseland Cemetery, Roseland, NE with military rites. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Jerald was born August 31, 1935 to George W. and Geraldine G. (Carey) Spicknall in Roseland, NE. He graduated from Roseland High School in 1953. He served in the Navy during the Korean War he was a 3rd class pipe fitter for the 7th Fleet. He married Peggy K. German on August 9, 1964 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. He worked for the Webster County Sheriff Dept as a Deputy Sheriff, and then later he worked as a security guard for AGP in Hastings, NE for 9 years. In April 2008 he moved to Hastings, NE. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE. He is survived by his wife Peggy of Hastings, NE, 3 daughters, Rebecca J. Embree and husband Terry of Hastings, NE, Kris Frear and husband Howard of Doniphan, NE and Jennifer Hunt and husband Joe of Hastings, NE. 2 sons, William C. Spicknall and fianc(c) Sue of Hastings, NE, and Michael E. Spicknall and special friend Joyce, of Hastings, NE. 15 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, 2 brothers, Geo R. Spicknall of Bladen, NE, Kenneth and wife Opal Spicknall of Bladen, 3 sisters, Betty Dill and husband Joe of Cape Coral, Fl, Rose Boyd of Bladen, and Eunice Sanders of Holstein, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 1 brother-in-law, Richard Boyd. Memorials may be given to the family.
