Jack C Harsh

Former Hastings resident, Jack C. Harsh, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, NE.

Services will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 am at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, with Pastor Paul Knott officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, NE.

Jack was born May 2, 1926 to John Henry and Margaret (Gilhouse) Harsh in Newkirk, OK. He married Eveline Doris (Josh) Gormon on September 29, 1953, Eveline passed away February 6, 2009. Jack worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot, Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital as a custodian and Pauley Lumber Company as a delivery man retiring in 1988.

Jack loved to sing and play guitar. He played for people at nursing homes and Mary Lanning rehab until he was 81 years old.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Walvoord (Arlan) of Firth, NE and Cheryl Ruggiero (Mark) of Kingsland, GA, three step sons, Dan Gormon of Wickenburg, AZ, Bill Gormon of Harvard, NE and Jack Gormon of Hastings, NE, honorary daughter, Virginia Ginn Parks (Ron) of Lincoln, NE, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one honorary grandson and one honorary great granddaughter, , one brother Robert Harsh of Gering, NE and one sister, Eva Hassler of Enid, OK and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eveline, two brothers, Jim and Henry (Hank) Harsh, one sister, Nora Marak and one nephew.
