Hastings resident Ida C. Hartman, 93 passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare.



Services will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm with family present from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com.



Memorials may be given to Mary Lanning Hospice or Start Over Rover both in Hastings.



Ida was born December 30, 1924 to Frank and Ruth (Reed) Dreier on a farm in York County. She attended rural school #23 in York County and graduated from McCool Junction High School. She taught rural school in York County and near Prosser for one year each. She attended Hastings College for two years.



On May 27, 1945 she married Delbert Hartman in Hastings. They then resided in Hastings with their three children. Ida worked for R.W. Kerr Plastics, then Food Centers and the Nash Finch Company in the office doing secretarial work for 31 years.



Ida and Delbert spent much of their leisure time riding motorcycles, belonging to three different clubs over the years, White Spot, Wheels & Sprockets and the Chapparrals Motorcycle Clubs. They vacationed with other motorcycle riders across the United States and Canada. They visited all 48 states over the years, pulling a camping trailer or sleep trailer.



She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Borrell and son, Richard Hartman both of Hastings, 10 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, and three sisters, Mildred Teane, Martha Margot and Norma Christian and many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert, her oldest son Ronald, and three brothers, August and George Dreier and Patrick Drummond and one sister, Margaret Plock.
