Howard Renschler

Juniata resident Howard Pat Renschler, 62 died Monday, September 18, 2006 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Rosary will be at 8 PM Friday, September 22, 2006 at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Thomas Au officiating. Burial will be in the Assumption Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 21, 2006, 8 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Friday 8 AM up till Rosary time. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Renschler was born January 29, 1944 to Merion Bud and Maxine (Wymore) Renschler in Hastings, NE. He was a longtime Juniata resident and graduated from the Juniata High School and also Milford Technical College. He served in the Nebraska National Guard. He was the second generation owner of the Juniata Roofing Company, which now is owned by his son Mark. He married Catherine Trausch on June 20, 1964 at Assumption. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed restoring antique cars and horse drawn equipment. In 1977 he began the restoration of the McCue-Trausch farmhouse, which was later appointed to the National Register of Historic Places. In 2001 they moved to the farm south of Juniata. He was a long time volunteer for the Adams County Historical Society and attended Assumption Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Catherine, daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Ray Peters, of Juniata, NE, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Nichole Renschler of Juniata, NE, 1 foster son Steve Beck, of Houston, TX. 12 grandchildren, 2 sisters Donis Moss and Penny and (spouse) Leo Bures all of Hastings, NE, brother Mike and (spouse) Karen Renschler of Loveland, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Annette, son Michael, and 3 sisters. Memorials may be given to the Assumption Cemetery or the Adams County Historical Society.
