Hattie as so many called her was born to Harry B. and Mae Belle (Pulver) Ernst in Hastings, on December 18, 1930. She was baptized on the family farm home, north of Kenesaw in 1935. Hattie graduated from the Kenesaw Public School in 1948 with a Normal Training Degree. She taught school for District 27 in Adams County for two years. On May 21, 1950 she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She married the love of her life Dale Finnigsmier on June 4, 1950 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. They had a long happy marriage of 66 years.

Hattie was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw and the Ladies Aid. She was an American Legion Auxiliary member and served on the Kenesaw Cemetery Association Board.

Hattie and Dale enjoyed touring in their model Ts after retirement and she loved her doll collection and sharing it with others. She loved flowers, especially her roses.

Hatties Faith and her family were the most important things to her and she loved every moment and she savored the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her husband Dale, of Kenesaw, three daughters, Valerie (Brent) Schirmer of Kenesaw, Sally (Steve) Theesen of St. Joseph, MO and Ann (Mark) Utter of Kenesaw, six grandchildren, Sarah (Christian) Kroos, Tim (Samantha) Schirmer, Melissa (John) Striebel, Rachel Utter, Vincent (Libby) Utter and Ross (Mackenzie) Theesen, six great grandchildren, Bridger, McKinnley, Cooper and Isabelle Kroos and Lottie and Hattie Schirmer, nieces, extended family and many many friends. They all will miss Hatties positive attitude, loving heart, big smile and kind words.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and an infant son, Tommy Dale.
