Hastings resident, Garold Jake D. Moser, 73, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at his home, 1000 Oswego. Services will be Monday, January 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, NE with Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial at 12:30 PM before the service at the Clay Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2008, with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM, at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Jake was born January 3, 1935 to Fred and Alice Shelton Moser in Bloomington, NE. He graduated from Clay Center High School in 1953, and attended Hastings College from 1953 to 1954. He then was called to serve in the Army from September 14, 1954 to September 14, 1956. When he returned from the service he finished college from 1956 to 1959. He then worked one year at Western Electric in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Then he returned to Nebraska and taught school in Nelson, NE from 1960 to 1961, he moved to Harvard, NE and taught from 1962 to 1967, then he moved to Hastings and taught from 1968 to 1994 for a total of 34 years. He married Coralee Madrid in 1961 in North Platte, NE. she died October 12, 2000. He and his wife Coralee were past owners of the Boesen Insurance Company in Kenesaw, NE, part owners of Foto Fast, Fast Print and owned rental apartment houses in Hastings, NE. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Hastings Area ARC, the Elks Club, the Legion Club, Eagles Club and the NE. Coaching Assoc. He was President of the Adams, Clay County ARC, Region III ARC, and the NE State ARC. Coralee and he were Chairpersons for Honey Sunday for 25 years. He is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa Moser, and Amy Caseley and husband Steve all of West Des Moines Iowa, 1 son Jay of Loveland, CO, 3 granddaughters, Kim, Anna and Lauren Caseley. 1 sister, Barbara Nelson of Lincoln, NE and 1 brother, Jack Moser of Rogers, AK. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Coralee, and 1 son Jay Dee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hastings Area ARC.
