Eileen R. Cosner

Eileen R. Cosner, 79, of Shelton died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Western Hall County Good Samaritan Center in Wood River. Services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelton with Rev. James Janovec officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery near Wood River. There will be a 7 pm Rosary Service at the church on Monday evening. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wood River Good Samaritan or to the Shelton Rescue Unit. Apfel Funeral Home of Wood River is serving the family. Eileen was born on April 28, 1933 in Wood River, the daughter of Steve H. and Mary A. (Sassen) Lyons. She grew up in Wood River, graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1950. Eileen then attended St. Francis Nursing School. Eileen was united in marriage to Loyal V. Cosner on June 21, 1955 in Wood River. The couple lived in Shelton their entire married lives in Shelton. Eileen was a Registered Nurse for 15 years in Shelton for Dr. Hieu and also raised her daughters. Eileen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelton. She enjoyed reading, auctions, antiques and especially time spent with her family. Eileen is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Kathleen A. & Larry Burklund of Lincoln, Theresa M. & Kelly Lemmer of Cozad, and Angela M & Matthew Elliott of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Loyal and a sister, Mary Ellen Arterburn.
