Edwin C. Zuelow

Former Hastings resident, Edwin C. Zuelow Jr., 96, passed away, Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, NE. Graveside service with military rites will be Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 2 PM in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, NE with the Pastor David King officiating. Visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Edwin was born May 1, 1914 to Edwin Carl Sr. and Marie (Anderson) Zuelow in Omaha, NE. He married Cleo I. Culbertson on June 12, 1937 in Atlantic, IA; she passed away on January 1, 1991. He served in the United States Army during WWII from July 13, 1943 to April 15, 1946. He worked at Armour and Company in Omaha, NE. He moved to Hastings, NE in 1951 and worked and retired from the Old Home Bakery. In 2008 he moved to the Good Samaritan Society, Superior, NE. Edwin enjoyed working in his flower garden. He is survived by a son, Terry Zuelow and wife Deb of Belleville, KS, one grandson, Ryan Zuelow and wife Andrea of Grand Island, NE, and one granddaughter, Kara Zuelow of Lincoln, NE, and three great granddaughters, Katie, Kinley and Karstyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cleo, and three brothers, Carl, Fred and Bill. Edwin requested no memorials or flowers.
