Douglas D Hansen

Douglas D. Hansen, 49, of Grand Island died Sunday, December 21, 2014, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.

Funeral Services will be Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Antone Roundy officiating. Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 10:30 A.M. on Monday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers to help with funeral costs. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of services.

He was born on April 5, 1965 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Virgil and Joann (Iverson) Hansen. He grew up in Grand Island and received his education from Grand Island Senior High.

Douglas was employed the south Walmart in Grand Island. He loved spending time with daughter Hayley. He was known as Uncle Boo and his dad used to call him Deano.

Survivors include his daughter, Haley Summers-Hansen of Grand Island; brothers and sister-in-law, Craig and Stephanie Hansen of Grand Island and Larry Hansen of North Platte; nephews, Destin Hansen and Colbie Hansen; nieces, Lachelle Hansen, Brenda Schleichardt; great-nephew, Desmond Schleichardt; and great-nieces, Araya Schroeder and Abbi Summers.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
