Dorothy Favinger

Hastings resident, Dorothy Favinger, 87, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion, GSS, Hastings~Village. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10 am at All Saints Chapel, Father Joseph Walsh officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be given to Perkins Pavilion, GSV, Hastings, NE. Dorothy was born July 2, 1926 in Hildreth, NE, to Harold and Anna (Jurgens) Hollingshad. She attended Hildreth Schools. She married Harold Favinger on May 16, 1987, Harold passed away February 10, 2013. They moved to Good Samaritan Village in 1992 where she had lived till passing away. She retired from the First National Bank in Hastings. She was a member of St. Cecilias Catholic Church, the VFW, American Legion and the Red Hatters. She volunteered many hours at Good Samaritan Village. She is survived by one step-son Mike of Hastings, NE, one step-daughter, Sheila Steele of Kearney, NE, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren and two sisters, Verlene Parker of Hastings and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and one sister.
