At Our Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home Location, Harvard, NE. Harvard resident, Doris M. (Stephens) Lovgren, 85, passed away December 23, 2009 at the Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, NE. Services will be Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 2 PM at the Harvard United Methodist Church, Harvard, NE with the Rev. Dean Joy officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2009 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Doris was born on April 2, 1924 in rural Clay County to James and Lydia (Pauley) Stephens. She graduated from Harvard High School in 1941. After graduation she taught in a rural country school and worked on aircraft engines at the Harvard Air Base. Doris was united in marriage to Marvin W. Lovgren on December 24, 1944 at the Methodist Church in Harvard, he passed away in 2002. They were active members of the First United Methodist Church in Harvard. United Methodist Women, Church Choir, PEO, and bridge were all important parts of her life. Her hobbies included needlework, cooking, and gardening. But her passion was her family and music, even singing on the radio for a short time. Left behind to mourn her are three daughters, Connie and Larry Lindquist of Milford, Sharon and Jim Tenopir of Lincoln, and Diane and Keith Keller of Harvard. Doris also was blessed with the love of eight grand children and 12 great grand children. Awaiting her in heaven are her husband, Marvin, her parents, Jim and Lydia Stephens and her sister Joan Stephens. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Harvard, NE.
