Dennis L. Mason

Dennis L. Mason, 54, of Grand Island, died Monday, August 20, 2018, at his home. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 27, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Cathryn Love officiating. Burial will be in Burkett Cemetery- Grand Island Veterans Home with military honors. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Dennis was born January 12, 1964, in Grand Island, NE, to Lonnie and Kathleen (Cronin) Mason. He attended Grand Island schools and graduated from Grand Island Senior High. On November 16, 1982, Dennis entered the United States Army, and was honorably discharged on August 26, 1985.

On April 20, 1996, Dennis was united in marriage to Corrina L. Matlock in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where he worked various sales position, and coached gymnastics for the Grand Island Twisters. He also worked in sterile processing and volunteered at the Veterans Medical Center. Dennis enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.

Survivors include wife: Corrina Mason; children: Vanessa (Brad) Buerer, Adam Mason, Aaron Mason all of Grand Island; siblings: Mike (Sharon) Mason of Corpus Christi, TX, Jerry (Carolyn) Mason of Omaha, NE, Tim (Kari) Mason of Red Feather Lakes, CO, Tom (Kay) Mason of La Harpe, IL, Jim Mason of Omaha, NE, Pat (Laurie) Mason of Grand Island, NE, Kitty (Dan) Glover of San Antonio, TX, Brian (Theresa) Mason of Tigard, OR, Dan Mason of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law: Tammy (John) Dickmeyer of Country Club, MO; and 22 nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents: Lonnie and Katie; and niece: Holly.
