At our Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, location, Kenesaw, NE. Holstein resident, Delvin Edward Karr, 93, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Services will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Holstein, NE with Rev. Harold King officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery in Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be 9 AM to 9 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in Kenesaw, NE with the family present from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Delvin was born April 9, 1917 to Roscoe and Emma (Halweg) Karr on the family farm near Kenesaw, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at the Wanda Zion Lutheran Church in Wanda, NE. He attended Wanda rural school district through the eighth grade. He farmed and ran D.D. Karr Construction and did custom combining and baling. On February 12, 1941 he married Fern Aldean Nelson at the parsonage at Wanda. Delvin and Fern celebrated their 69th anniversary this past February. In 1949 they moved from the farm to Holstein, NE where they raised 3 sons, Gayle, Ron and Marlin. After retiring in 1987 he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and hunting, and working in his shop. Delvin is survived by his wife, Fern of Holstein, NE, three sons, Gayle of Hastings, NE, Ron and wife Sheri of Holdrege, NE, and Marlin and wife Tami of Blue Hill, NE, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Gene and wife Jeannie of Westminister, CO, 2 sister-in-laws, Evelyn Thiesen and Faye Karal both of Hastings, NE, NE and many nieces and nephews, He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Paul and LaMont, 1 sister Darbue Einspahr and an infant brother and sister. Memorials may be given to the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Holstein, NE.
