Hastings resident, Delmar Bud Albers, 88, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 9 AM to 9 PM and with family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from Bud was born July 31, 1920 to Ed and Ella (Markwardt) Albers in Campbell, NE. He married Cleo Wilke on April 9, 1939 in Clay Center, NE. He has lived in the Hastings area over 70 years coming from Campbell, NE at the age of 9. He worked as a maintenance foreman at Dutton Lainson for over 40 years he retired in 1982. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and one of the founders and past president of the Hastings Saddle Club. He is survived by, 2 daughters, Bonnie L. Chamberlain and husband Ronald of Hastings, NE, and Rose Marie Henricksen and husband Wes of Juniata, NE, 3 Grandchildren, LaDonna Halbmaier and husband Stan, James Chamberlain and wife Liz all of Hastings, NE and Angie Torske and husband Randy of Juniata, NE. 5 great grandchildren, Trevor and Trenton Halbmaier, Jordan and Adam Torske and Luke James Chamberlain. And 3 sisters, Darlien Thein, MilRae Gartner and Marilyn Gerritsen all of Hastings, NE and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cleo, 2 sisters, Lucille Gartner and Betty Lindsey and 1 brother Bobby. And 4 brother-in-laws, Joe Thein, Harlod Gartner, Henry Gartner and Richard Gerritsen. Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran School, Hastings, NE.
