Dale C. Maruska

December 20, 1935 — January 25, 2021

Dale C. Maruska, 85, of Grand Island died Monday, January 25, 2021, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island Due to Covid-19 precautions, Dale's memorial service was delayed.



Memorial services will be at 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Berean Bible Church in Grand Island.



Dale C. Maruska was born December 20, 1935, at Burwell, NE to Carl L. and Helen (Kamarad) Maruska. He grew up in the Burwell and Comstock areas, graduating from Comstock High School in 1953.



Dale entered the U.S. Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He spent two years in the active reserves, then two more years on inactive reserve.



Dale married Linda Lowe on September 14, 1968, at Omaha, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island. Dale worked as a scale technician for Toledo Scale for 28 years, servicing industrial scales. In his retirement, he worked part time for Sam’s Club three days a week.



He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the accordian.



Survivors include his wife, Linda Maruska of Grand Island; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Jodi Maruska of Grand Island and granddaughters, Emily and Erin; two daughters and son-in-law, Lori and Mark Steinle of Omaha, NE and granddaughters, Liesel and Penelope, and Jada Maruska of Grand Island; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters and brother-in-law, Carol Springer of Omaha and Linda and Casey Arnold of Omaha; and sister-in-law, Karol Maruska of Fort Collins, CO.



He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Darrell; two brothers in law Leo Schaber and Jim Springer.
