Hastings resident Craig G. Kinnaman, 81, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Harrison Hospital, Bremerton, WA. Services will be Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE, with Rev. Alan Davis, officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2008 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation. A celebratory luncheon will be held immediately following the services at First United Methodist Church. Graveside service will be at Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 1 PM at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE with military rites. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials on behalf of Craig, can be made directly to First United Methodist Church, 614 N. Hastings Avenue, Hastings, NE 68901. Craig was born, September 19, 1926 to Nellie and Claude Kinnaman in Phelps County, NE. He attended school in Phelps County, including Holdrege Senior High School. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947. He married, Wilma Mae (Miller) Nelson on February 14, 1948 in Lincoln, NE. They resided in Holdrege, NE until July, 1966, where they were members of The First Methodist Church. They subsequently resided in Hastings, NE until Craigs death, where they were members of The First United Methodist Church. Craig was a salesman for Montgomery Ward & Co., in Holdrege and Hastings for 36 years. He subsequently owned and operated Kinnaman Painting and Decorating and worked part-time for The Regency Retirement Center in Hastings. Many people in Hastings will remember Craig as Uncle Sam for the annual YMCA Fourth of July festivities for the past several years. Craig was a 60 year member of United Commercial Travelers of America. Craig is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Hastings; his three children, John and daughter-in-law Deanna Kinnaman of Savannah, GA, Cathy and son-in-law Duke Bourgeois of Silverdale, WA and Jean Hespe and partner Randy Nielsen of Yelm, WA; two grandchildren; Cory and Shannon Hespe of Minneapolis, MN and Kimberly and Philip Gilcrease of Anchorage, AK, and great-granddaughter Payton Gilcrease; a brother, Chauncey B. (Ken) of Fairfield, CA; a sister, Colleen B. Cook of Kearney, NE; a God-daughter, Jolene Hamsher of Greeley, CO; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carroll and Conan.
