Cody was born September 22, 1997 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Doug and Crystal (Brown) Schott. He grew up in St. Libory, Nebraska and attended St. Libory Elementary and Middle School and went on to attend Northwest High School, graduating in 2016.

Cody is loved by many. He had a way of making friends anywhere he went and lighting up a room with his presence. He truly cared about other people and believed the best in everyone. He wanted to get to know you and find a way to help you. He was always so positive and looking for opportunities to improve both his life and the lives of those around him. He gave the best hugs and daps.

He loved to spend time with friends listening to his idols Lil Peep and JuiceWRLD. He loved playing x-box with the boys. Most important to him was his family, and although they could often drive him crazy, he loved spending time with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Doug and Crystal Schott; his sister Elizabeth Schott; his Grandma; cousin and best friend Brock Jennelle; cousin, more like sister, Brittany Jennelle and little cousin Bentley Jennelle; Aunt Brenda and Uncle Jeff Jennelle; cousin Hali (Parker) Mastny; Aunt Coral (Rob) Grothe; Uncle Herb Brown III; Aunt Amber Luther; Aunt Misty Brown; multiple cousins and second cousins and great aunts and uncles; a multitude of friends; and step-grandfather Vonl.

There to greet him on the other side are his Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Herb, four-legged best friend Champ, ‘Uncle’ Kirk Nelson, and many great grandparents.
