Hastings resident, Clara M. Enninga, 96, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with Rev. Marcus Mackay officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be Monday, February 14, 2011 from 5 PM to 9 PM and Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Clara was born December 30, 1914 to Edward and Emma (Kort) Koepke in Ayr, NE. She graduated from the Blue Hill High School in 1933. She married Albert Enninga on October 23, 1939; in Blue Hill, NE, he passed away July 29, 1960. She was a cook at the St. Pauls Lutheran School and the Kenesaw Caf(c) both in Kenesaw, NE and was also a babysitter. In 1967 she moved to Hastings coming from Kenesaw. Clara was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked as an Activities Aide at the Good Samaritan Society; she was a foster grandparent at the Childrens Ark. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE. She is survived by two sons, Eldon and wife Wyona of Kenesaw, NE, David and wife Carol of Arvada, CO and one daughter Diana Hayek and husband Mike of Lincoln, NE.six grandchildren, Tammie Johnson, Scott Enninga, Deb Streff, Brent Enninga, Amy Enninga, and Sara Enninga, five great grandchildren, Kristoffer Johnson, Dan Streff, Kasey Johnson, Bailey Streff and Avery Enninga, and one god-child, Doug Karsting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, one sister, Agnes Jurgena and two brothers, Wilfred and Harold Koepke. Memorials may be given to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, the Childrens Ark, both in Hastings, NE or AsceraCare Hospice, Grand Island, NE.
