Chloe Emma Shelbourn

Former Hastings resident, Chloe E. Shelbourn, 85 died Monday, July 16th, 2007 at Riverwood Center, in Jacksonville, FL. Services will be Friday, July 27, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE with Pastor Randy Madison officiating. Burial will be 2:30 at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mrs. Shelbourn was born, April 28, 1922 to LeRoy and Luella Fern Bristol Swearingen, in Valentine, NE. She was a resident of Valentine until 1959, then Broken Bow where she was employed at Becton-Dickenson and Rest Haven, retiring to Good Samaritan Village, in Hastings, NE in 1997. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, Hastings, NE. She will be missed by many friends in Jacksonville, especially employees of Riverwood Center that cared for her as though she were their own. She is survived by 1 daughter, Arlyss Snell, of Jacksonville, FL, 2 sons, Kenneth Shelbourn and wife Sandy of Litchfield, MI and the Rev. Jimmy Shelbourn and wife Carol of Beatrice, NE. 1 daughter-in-law Sharon Shelbourn of Omaha, NE, 11 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren. 2 sisters, Avis Cady of Kearney, NE, and Reva Thorpe, of Canon City, CO., 1 brother Neal Swearingen of Smithland, IA. And by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur on May 17, 2001, by 1 son, Harold Shelbourn in 2002, by a son-in-law, Chad, in 2007 by her parents and a brother, Denzel Swearingen and a sister Mildred Fisher and a great grandson Brady Shelbourn. Memorials may be given to Evangelical Free Church, Hastings, NE.
