"Buzz" Dennis M. Hansen

“Buzz”, Dennis M. Hansen, 65, of Grand Island died Sunday, October 14, 2018, at CHI Health St. Francis.

A celebration of Life for friends and family will be held Friday, October 19, 2018, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the United Veterans Club, Liberty Room, Grand Island, NE.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Buzz was born October 13, 1953, at Kearney, NE the son of Mervin and Elaine (Nielsen) Hansen. He grew up and attended elementary school in Alda, graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1972.

He entered the U.S. Army on December 27, 1972 and was honorably discharged on December 11, 1975.

He was united in marriage to Kathy Farris, July 1, 1995 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Grand Island where he was employed by JBS Swift Company.

He enjoyed History, reading, gardening and traveling.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kathy, two sons & daughter-in-law, John & Regina Farris and Colby Hansen, grandchildren, Caleb, Dante, Kellen, Hayden and Jillian, sisters & brother-in-law, Sandy & Rolland Engle & Rona Sutton, nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Ashlynn Elizabeth.
