Brian K Woodward

Brian K. Woodward of Wood River, NE entered his heavenly mansion April 12, 2022.



Visitation will be held Monday, April 18th at Apfel Funeral home in Grand Island, NE from 5pm-7pm. Service will be the following morning at 11am at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island, NE. The family requests attendees dress colorful as Brian always wanted to be celebrated, never mourned.



Brian was born August 18, 1966 to Walt and Mary (Meyer) Woodward. He was the youngest of four children.



He grew up in North Platte, NE where he met the love of his life and best friend, Jill Morgan. Brian and Jill married July 4, 1986. Together they welcomed four children, Zachary, Emmily, James, and John.



Brian was a dedicated man, both to his family and career. Through his time in retail he gained friends that felt like family. Brian quickly climbed the corporate ladder after beginning his career with Wal-Mart in 1999 and made his mark on many hearts as a manager. Brian's job allowed his family to experience many new places from Nebraska to Missouri to New York.



Brian enjoyed many hobbies such as lawn care, weather, and grilling. His greatest joy, however, came from his 5 grandchildren. They overwhelmed his heart with love.



Through many ups and downs in his life, Brian kept a faith that moved mountains. He faced many difficult struggles, including cancer, but never allowed it to break him. His strength was admired by those around him. It never mattered what he was going through, he would always help a person in need. He will be missed, as he is loved by so many.



He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his sons James and John; sister Deanna Skufca.



He is survived by his wife, Jill Woodward of Wood River, NE; son Zachary (Jenny) Woodward of Wright City, MO; Emmily (Brad) Starman of Alda, NE; brother Doug (Linda) Woodward of North Platte, NE; brother Wally of North Platte, NE; as well as 5 grandchildren.
