Ava Maurine Glantz

Former Harvard resident, Ava Maurine Glantz 75, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion, GSS, Hastings-Village, Hastings, NE. Services will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Harvard United Church of Christ, in Harvard, NE with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Friday, November 28, 2008 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Ava was born January 26, 1933 to Lourn and Lola (Johnson) Long in Hastings, NE. She married Richard Glantz on January 24, 1948. She worked for awhile at numerous jobs including nursing home care and Metz Bakery. She also helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Harvard United Church of Christ in Harvard, NE and the Ladies Auxiliary, the Farmerettes Extension Club, the VFW Auxiliary and the Beta Sigma Phi. She is survived by her husband, Richard of Hastings, NE, 1 son, Rod Glantz and wife Kay of Harvard, NE and 1 daughter Linda Peter and husband Marvin of Sutton, NE. 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 2 sisters Dorothy Hansen of Harvard and Ethel Theinert and husband Glenn of Peoria, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Memorials may be given to the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard, NE.
