Juniata resident, Allard Warneke, 69, passed away Tuesday, September 01, 2009 at the Golden Living Center; Columbus, NE. Services will be Friday, September 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Greg Volzke officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, September 4, 2009 at 4 PM at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Norfolk, NE with the Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 12 noon to 9 PM with the family present from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Allard was born August 25, 1940 to Martin and Pearl (Brummels) Warneke in Pierce, NE. He married Janice Huseman on July 15, 1962 in Alta, Iowa. He was a teacher and principal for 42 years. He served in Ogallala, NE, Fort Smith, AR, and Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. He served on the District Board of Directors of Nebraska and Mid-South Districts of the L.C.M.S. He was on the Heartland Lutheran High School Board in Grand Island, NE. He taught Sunday school and was superintendant of Sunday school. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE. He loved teaching children,his own grandchildren and playing cards. He played and coached sports and sang in the church choir. He is survived by his wife Janice of Juniata, NE, his mother Pearl of Battle Creek, NE, 1 son, Kevin Warneke and wife Kimberly of Plano, TX, 2 daughters, Julie Warneke of Josephine, TX and Jeana Buhman and husband Phil of Columbus, NE. 6 grandchildren, Lindsey, Kaleb, Jessica, Amber, Natalie and Mark. 3 brothers, ArlanWarneke of Pierce, NE, Arvid Warneke and Alan Warneke, both of Battle Creek, NE. 3 sisters, Arlis Meyer and Anita Hupp both of Norfolk, NE, and Angie Wiese of Haven, KS. He was preceded in death by his father Martin. Memorials may be given to the 3 Lutheran schools, he served, Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE, the First Lutheran Church in Fort Smith, AR, or the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ogallala, NE.
