Viola M. Coleman

Hastings resident, Viola M. Coleman, 95 died Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Friday, April 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings, NE with the Rev. David Speicher officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2 PM at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery, Bassett, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and up till service time Friday at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Viola was born August 2, 1913 to Alva and Jane (Siders) Wyant on a ranch 19 miles from Johnstown, NE. She married Robert G. Coleman, February 4, 1936; he passed away November 29, 1949. She worked 18 years at the Hastings Regional Center retiring in 1981. She was a homemaker and loving mother, she cherished time spent with family and her grandchildren. She was a member of the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene in Hastings, NE. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Platt and husband Archie of Franklin, NE, step-daughter, Vernice Johnson of Hawaiian Gardens, CA, 2 sons, Robert Coleman and wife Shirley, of Colby, KS, and Garry Coleman and wife Linda of Hastings, NE. 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, 2 brothers Okal Wyant and Virgil Wyant and an infant son. Memorials may be given to Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings, NE.
