Thomas J. Huffman, 61, of Grand Island died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Marys Cathedral with Rev. Richard Piontkowski officiating. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation hours will be on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Thomas J. Huffman was born, March 21, 1952 at Newark, Ohio the son of James & Alice (Sands) Huffman. He grew up in numerous communities, graduating from Port Allegany Pennsylvania High school with the class of 1970. He was united in marriage to Patricia Blackman. He later married Linda McCurdy, March 24, 1979 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where he was employed as a warehouse manager for Pepsi Cola and later retired due to failing health.

He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and watching football.

He was a member of St. Marys Cathedral, Ducks Unlimited and National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Huffman of Grand Island, two sons and daughters in law; Jamie & Crystal Bechtel of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jeremy & Valerie Bechtel of Wellsboro, PA, two stepdaughters; Tammy & KennyThoe and Jennifer & Clarence Hollins both of Phoeniz, Arizona. Grandchildren, Chris Bartlett, Matt Bartlett, Alana Hulewicz, Adam Hulewicz, Kaci Ann Thoe & fianc, Rob Berry, Kendall Thoe, Seth Bechtel, Isaac Bechtel and Jared Bechtel, one great grandchild due in February. Four brothers & sisters in law, Mark & Lori Main of Rapid City, South Dakota, Bruce Main and Kelly Callaghan of Bellevue, Nebraska, Robert L. & Bernadette Main of Roulette, PA, John & Song Huffman of Panama City, Florida, six sisters & brothers in law; Paula & Gregg Kadel of Henderson, Iowa, Jill & Mike Beaver of Camden, Arkansas, Linda & Mike Hayes of San Antonio, Texas, Marsha & Ben Byrd of Smackover, Arkansas, Debbie Fulton of Oakland, Iowa, Cheryl Jordon of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Alice L. Huffman, stepson, Danny Anderson, first grandson, Bradley Thoe, and brother, Kailin O. Main Sr.
