Stanley R. Armstrong

Kenesaw resident, Stanley R. Armstrong, 79, passed away, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kenesaw, NE with Father Adam Sughroue officiating. Stanleys wishes were to be cremated. Book signing will be Monday, August 7, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm with a rosary following at 7 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kenesaw, NE with Father Adam Sughroue officiating. Burial with military rites by the Hastings Veterans Service will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in care of the family.

Stanley was born February 1, 1938 to Orville and Fern (Aulrich) Armstrong in Hastings, NE. He graduated from the Kenesaw High School in 1956. He served in the United States Navy from June 1, 1956 to July 30, 1959; he was a 3rd class petty officer. He drove truck for Dahlsten Trucking and Western Plastics and retired from Picks Pack - Haulers.

Stanley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kenesaw, NE and the VFW. He enjoyed Nascar, car racing, hunting fishing, playing cards and having coffee with the guys.

He is survived by, one son Scott Armstrong of Kenesaw, two grandsons, Travis Armstrong and Sheldon Armstrong and two granddaughters Shasta Armstrong and Shylee Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Mark and his favorite dog Raymond.
