Hastings resident, Sophia Bohlen, 94 died Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Services will be Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, NE with Rev. Jeff Glawe officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 9 AM to 9 PM with family present from 7 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Burial will be in the Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Sophia was born April 19, 1915 to Henry G. and Anna (Harms) Tjarks in rural Clay Co. She married Herman Bohlen, April 23, 1931. They farmed in the Glenvil area until retiring in 1975. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, NE, and also the church circle, the Glenvil American Legion Auxiliary, a 50 year member of the Spring Ranch Homemakers, and a member of the Silver Bells at Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. She is survived by 2 sons, Dale and wife Joyce of Fairfield, NE and Duan and wife Dixie of Hastings, NE, 9 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, 1 foster great grand daughter, 2 great great grandchildren, 14 step great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman, her parents, 1 grandson, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Memorials may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Glenvil, NE or the Glenvil Cemetery.
