Hastings resident, Ronald D. Fielder, 72, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, NE after a 2 year battle with cancer. Services will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11 AM at the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings, NE with the Pastor John Whitsett officiating. Private family burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings; NE. There will be no viewing his body was cremated. Book signing will be Friday, October 28, 2011, from 9 AM to 4 PM and Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Ron was born May 29, 1939, to Donald and Twila (Simnitt) Fielder in Hastings, NE. He married Pat Repp on October 20, 1958 in Dallas, TX. He worked at Hastings Industries for 29 years and was the President of the Union there for over 25 years. Before retiring he worked for NAPA for 4 years. Ron lived in Hastings most of his life. He was a member of the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, in Hastings, NE. He boxed for the Golden Gloves and later coached the Hastings Golden Gloves for 5 years. He was a stock car driver at the Hastings Fairgrounds and he was a fast pitch softball pitcher in Hastings for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife Pat of Hastings, 3 daughters, Brenda Bennett and husband Jon of Phoenix, AZ, Barbara Freeburg and husband Rex and Cynthia Allen all of Hastings, 9 grandchildren, Mike, Nick and Sarah Bennett, Riley Fielder and girlfriend Roxanne, Jordan and Dylan Freeburg, Tyler Brayton and Brandon Allen and Breanna Bruning and 2 great grandchildren, Paisley and Epiphanae Fielder, 3 brothers, Larry and wife Norma and Rick and wife Nancy all of Hastings, and Dannie and wife Lueta of Lincoln, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Delbert. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
