March 21, 1932 — September 7, 2008

Hastings resident, Roger W. Forsberg, 76, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion, GSV; Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Delmer Klover officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and up till service time Wednesday at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Roger was born March 21, 1932 to Everett and Pauline (Peterson) Forsberg in Holdrege, NE. He lived with his parents on a farm near Bertrand, NE and graduated from Bertrand High School in May of 1950. On June 14, 1953 he was united in marriage to Vida L. Ebmeier, Roger worked for the Loomis Coop Elevator in Loomis, NE, Anderson Plumbing and Heating in Holdrege and in April of 1957 they moved to Hastings, NE. He was employed at Harmon Grain Storage in Trumbull for several years and also Fleming Manufacturing Co. in Hastings, NE for over 22 years. He retired in July of 1994. Roger and his wife Vida are charter members of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard in Hastings, NE and both had served in various capacities over the years. He was a member of the Midwest Masonic Lodge #317. He served as Master of Midwest Masonic Lodge #317 of Hastings in 1981. Scottish Rites and York Rite bodies of Masonry and also a member of the Tehama Temple of the Shrine in Hastings, NE. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order Eagles Lodge #592 in Hastings, NE and served as president of that organization from 1985 to 1986. He is survived by his wife Vida of Hastings, NE, 2 sisters, Eunice Hansen and husband Larry of Hampton, NE, and June Johnson and husband Gary of Holdrege, NE, 1 sister-in-law Dorothea Kampfe of Gothenburg, NE and 1 brother-in-law Lloyd Ebmeier of Bertrand, NE and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 infant brother. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or the Fraternal of Eagles Heart Fund.
