Bob was born November 2, 1933 to Raymond and Ella I. (Rhode) Steinbarger in Crawford, NE. He graduated high school in 1951 in Scottsbluff, NE. He then attended the Scottsbluff Junior College. Bob married Sheila M. Ehrlich on June 28, 1953 in Scottsbluff, NE. Sheila passed away February 24, 2012. He served in the United States Army from June 8, 1955 to June 7, 1957. In 1971, Bob moved his family to Hastings. In 1979 he opened Bob’s Electric Supply. It was a family owned & operated business. Bob, Sheila, Mike, & Susan all worked at the store along with several other employees, who he considered family as well. Bob sold the business in 1994. Upon retirement, Bob & Sheila wintered in Arizona & made many lasting friendships while there. Summers found them at their cabin in the Black Hills of South Dakota. To his dying day, Bob hoped to get back there one more time.

Dad was truly a self-made man. He astounded many with his business savvy. He could fix just about anything. He pondered on a problem until he came up with a solution. If you came to Bob with a problem, you could count on the fact he would figure it out.

Robert was a member of many churches including Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard in Hastings. He was also a member of the Eagles Club in Hastings.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan and husband David Wolz of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Susan and Dave’s canine companion, Bella, was at his side those last days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sheila, and one son Mike.
