Randel "Randy" Curtis Reed

Hastings resident, Randal Randy Curtis Reed, 57, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings Village, after a hard battle with cancer.

Graveside service will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:30 am at Parkview Cemetery with Pastor Kent Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements.

Randy was born March 18, 1960 to Gale and Bonita (Shay) Reed in Hastings. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1978. He married Shelly Kershner on May 31, 1986 in Hastings. Randy worked at Kully Pipe and Steel.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings.

He is survived by his wife Shelly, mother Bonita (Reed) Harper and step-father Mel Harper

Brother, Rick Reed, two step brothers, Randy (Myrna)Harper and Dan Harper, step-sister, Marsha (Tom) Valentine, two Aunts, in laws Valdean and Elaine Kershner, 2 brother in laws, Joel (Tami) and Kevin (Julie) Kershner, sister in law Darla (Brad) Quackenbush, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by, his father Gale Reed, grandparents, Joe and Bernice Shay, Lloyd and Margaret Reed and step-grandmother, Fran Shay.
