Rae Ann Saunders, 60, of Grand Island, died Friday, May 19, 2017 at CHI St. Francis Health in Grand Island.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Grand Island. Father Mark Maresh will be officiating. Interment will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Wood River.

Visitation will be from 5-7:30 P.M. Monday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Rae Ann was born on February 6, 1957 to Ronald and Evelyn (Morosic) Campbell in Grand Island, Nebraska. She grew up in Wood River and graduated from Wood River High School in 1975. She received her Associates Degree from Hastings Community College. She was united in marriage to Ray Saunders on March 7, 1987 in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island where she was employed in a clerical position for Almquist Maltzahn Galloway and Luth Accountants for over 30 years. Ray and Rae Ann spent time away at their cabin on the Harlan County Reservoir in Republican City. The enjoyed boating and socializing with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ray; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sophie Saunders of Lincoln; step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Sarah and Jeff Springer of Grand Island, Andrea Saunders of Denver, Jenny and Race Kelley of Illinois; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Chris and Jodi Sanders of Illinois; mother, Evelyn Campbell of Grand Island; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deb and Dave Harders of Wood River, Sue and Bruce Lans of Stamford, NE; and 14 grandchildren.

Rae Ann was preceded in death by her father, Ronald; and 1 grandson, Logan Saunders.
