Hastings resident, Pearl Merie Erikson, 93, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 3 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Alan W. Davis officiating. Private family burial will be at the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. There will be no visitation; book signing will be Friday, May 1, 2009 from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Pearl was born July 5, 1915 to Riley and Mabel (Miller) Palmer, in rural Nuckolls County. She graduated from Swanton, NE. She married Howard Erikson, March 28, 1938 he passed away, September 30, 1987. They farmed north-east of Harvard, NE from 1938 to 1943 moving to Hastings, NE on January 1, 1943. Pearl was a member of the First United Methodist Church, in Hastings, NE and taught Sunday school, she was also a former Cub Scout Den Mother and a Y-Teen leader. She is survived by, 2 daughters, Shari Pollard and husband Richard of Laurel, MD and Merry Davis and husband Tom of Tempe, AZ. 1 son Stan Erikson of Mountain Home Arkansas. 17 grandchildren 45 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Lou McKibben of Hastings NE and Larena Miller of Chickasaw, Oklahoma and 3 brothers John Palmer of Austin, TX, Vern Palmer of Fremont Indiana and Bob Palmer of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Howard 2 sons, Don Erikson and Phil Erikson and 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Memorials may be given to the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Caring Hands Hastings NE.
