Pauline Catherine Eckhardt

Hastings resident, Pauline Catherine Eckhardt, 96, passed away, Monday, June 18, 2018 at The Kensington, Hastings.



Services will be Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 2 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein, Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com.



Pauline was born April 2, 1922 to William and Mary (Thomas) Blayney in Heartwell, NE. She attended Heartwell schools and graduated in 1939. She married Walter Eckhardt on April 10, 1941 in Blair, NE, Walter passed away on December 8, 2008. Pauline was a homemaker, and mother. Pauline and Walter shared responsibilities on the farm and home.



Pauline was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein and Dorcas Society; she was a devoted Christian. She was a determined, kind and loving person, at The Kensington they called her a warrior because of her strength and determination. She enjoyed spending time with her family, growing roses, and embroidering.



Pauline is survived by, three daughters, Marcy Haller of Palmyra, NE, Mary (Bob) Lyberis of Lincoln, NE and Patty (Jerry) Buhr of Hastings, NE, 7 grandchildren, Tim (Jody) Haller, Tom Haller, Krista Haller, Ty (Shelly) Haller, Kim (Gene) Webb, Matthew (Rachel) Lyberis and Nathan (Wendy) Buhr, 11 great grandchildren, Karly Haller, Gabby Traxler, Chase Traxler, Noah Traxler, Sammy Haller, Tyson Haller, Zach Reynolds, Owen Reynolds, Max Lyberis, Payden Buhr and Brooklynn Buhr and two great great grandchildren, Layne Haller and Albie Schutte, and several nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, two sisters, two brothers, daughter, Carol Eckhardt and one son in law, Richard Haller and Libby, beloved pet and companion.
