Obituary for Myrna Joyce Kent

Hastings resident, Myrna Joyce Kent, 83, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings, NE.

Services will be Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:30 am at First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family. Condolences may be sent to the family from

Joyce was born October 31, 1934 to Richard Alvin and Marjorie Marie (Zimmerman) Corder in Kearney, NE. She graduated from the Geneva High School in 1953. She married Delbert Eugene Kent, on March 30, 1954, Delbert passed away May 17, 1992. Joyce had worked as a nurses aid at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Villa Grace Home and later Villa Assisted Living.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches, crocheting afghans, dolls and embroidery work.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Kent Potter of Hastings and Kandra (Roy) Kinne of Cambridge, one son, Delmer Kent of Hastings, brother, Richard (Marlene) Corder Jr of Lincoln, sister, Dixie (Dale) Nanamaker of Osborne, KS, brother in law, William (Ellen) Kent Jr of Cambridge, 8 grandchildren, Machelle (Royce) Holliday, Bobby (Rebecca) Potter, Patrick (Zobeth) Potter, Kimberly (Cobey) ten Bensel, Daniel Kent, Dakotah Kent, Jermey Kent and Skyler Kent, 14 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert, step mother, Minnie Mae Corder, brother, Edward Corder, twin infant brothers, sister, Pamela and brother in law, Stanley Kent.
