Murldine Jackson, 96 of Grand Island, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Skilled Care, Grand Island.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2015 at Apfel Funeral Home, Grand Island. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2015 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to CHI St. Francis Skilled Care Nursing Staff, Grand Island. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Murldine was born, March 14, 1919 in Beatrice, Nebraska the daughter of Stanford and Pearl (Williams) Camper. She grew up in Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice Senior High School. After graduation she worked in Lincoln, Nebraska but returned to Grand Island to care for her mother until her death in 1942.

She was united in marriage to Levi Jackson, on December 6, 1943 in Mankato, Kansas. The couple resided at 518 East 13th Street in Grand Island where she was employed as a housekeeper for the City Ordinance Plant and later a Lutheran Memorial Hospital where she became the Supervisor of Housekeeping. She retired in 1984 after 18 years of service to Lutheran Memorial Hospital. In 2008 Murldine moved to St. Francis Skilled Care until time of her death.

She was a member of United Methodist Church.

She LOVED drawing, painting, gardening and playing the piano.

Those left to cherish her memory include many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Levi Jackson, brother, Roland Camper, half-sister, Leona (Williams) Dixon.
