Milford Killham

August 18, 1934 — November 29, 2016

Milford Killham 82, of Grand Island died peacefully with his family around him, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Lakeview, Grand Island, NE.



Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Cathryn Love officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.



Milford Killham was born August 18, 1934 in Columbus, NE, the son of Elmer & Lula (Kinzer) Killham. He grew up and received his education form Central City High School, graduating with the class of 1954.



He was united in marriage to Charlene Rae Parker, April 28, 1957 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where he was an employee of the City of Grand Island in the Street Department. Charlene preceded him in death, February 13, 1979.



He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Platt Duetsche.



Milford enjoyed watching sports, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also enjoyed playing cards, camping and dancing. In his younger years, he played town team baseball.



Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter & son-in-law, Lori & Brian Hinkson of Grand Island, son & daughter-in-law, Doug D. & Amy Killham of Lincoln, NE, four grandchildren, Justin Knox, Brock Hinkson, Maggie Killham and Jake Killam; brother & sister-in-law, Alford & Carol Killham of Grand Island, a sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & Louis Hilligas of Grand Island.



He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlene; four brothers, and four sisters.
