Michael D. Jones

Michael D. Jones, 64, of Grand Island, died peacefully Monday, August 27, 2018, at CHI Health, St. Francis Medical Center. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home with Jay Towell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Grand Island Public Library. Michael was born October 16, 1953, at McCord Airforce Base in Washington. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Hrnicek in 1973. He lived most of his life in Kearney, Grand Island, and surrounding area. He loved the Cornhuskers, cooking, fishing, and was an avid reader. He loved being with his grandchildren and his dogs.

Mike is survived by wife: Marjorie; children: James (Linda) Jones of Hastings, NE, Mary (Jeremy) Jones of Grand Island. NE, Matthew (Ellen) Jones of Hastings, NE; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Edward; and sister: Julie Jones.
