Marlin G. Schenk

November 6, 1927 — March 8, 2014

Prosser resident, Marlin G. Schenk, 86, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River, NE.



Services will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Kenesaw Presbyterian Church, Kenesaw, with Pastor Beth Fotinos officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 1 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw.



Memorials may be given to the family.



Marlin was born November 6, 1927 to Ralph and Margaret (Koch) Schenk in Campbell, NE. He graduated from the Campell High School in 1946. He married Shirley Pritchard on September 1, 1948, she passed away March 19, 1991. He married Bonnie Fierstein on January 1, 1996, she passed away June 5, 2009.

Marlin was a farmer and former elevator grain manager.



He was a member of the Kenesaw Presbyterian Church, Prosser Volunteer Fire Department, a Charter member of the BCA and was Mayor of Prosser for many years.



He enjoyed teasing his grandchildren, playing cards, gardening, hunting and fishing.



He is survived by one son, Doug Schenk and wife Denise, one daughter, Cynthia Langenberg and husband Randy, all of Prosser, two brothers, Kenneth Schenk and wife Avis of West Point, NE and Lloyd Schenk and wife Marilyn of Emunclaw, WA, four sisters, Marge Krudna of Wayne, NE, Gloria Steiner and husband Jack of Hastings, NE, Eleanor Burgess and husband Raymond and Darlene Davis all of Red Cloud, NE, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives Shirley and Bonnie, three infant sons, twins Clinton and Clayton and infant son Mark, one brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Shirley, one sister Dorothy, and brother-in-law, Charles Krudna.
