At our Kenesaw location, the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home. Lincoln resident formerly of Holstein, NE, Marilyn M. Stichweh, 84, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln, NE. Services will be Friday, October 15, 2010 at 10:30 AM, at the Wanda Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Wanda Church Cemetery. Visitation will be today until 9 PM at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Marilyn was born May 6, 1926 to Elvin and Emma (Holhfeld) Aufdenkamp in Hastings, NE. She was baptized into the Christen faith on May 16, 1926. She attended the Zion Wanda Lutheran Church. Marilyn attended Kenesaw High School and graduated as the valedictorian of her class in the spring of 1944. Following graduation, she spent one year teaching grade school at district 56. On July 28, 1945 she married Orville Stichweh at the Wanda Zion Lutheran Church. They lived in an apartment in Hastings, following their marriage. They continued to live in Hastings until moving back to the Aufdenkamp homestead following the death of her mother in 1949. They had three children and she always encouraged her children to obtain their University degrees and supported them in their choice of careers. Marilyns four grandchildren enjoyed sharing in the farm life having extended visits to the farm during the summers. Following Orvilles death in 2001, Marilyn remained at the farm until early 2002 when she moved to Lincoln, NE and spent the remainder of her life there. She had declining health for an extended period of time and passed away with her family by her side. Marilyn was a member of the Zion Wanda Lutheran Church throughout her life. She is survived by her three children, Steven and his wife Jeannie of Toronto, Canada, Tom and wife Pam of Kansas City, and Nancy Woodward and husband Ray of Lincoln, NE and four grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Seth and Kali. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Orville. Memorials may be given to donors choice. The family is grateful to all the staff at the Holmes Lake Manor for the care and comfort provided to Marilyn during the final four years of her life.
